My video (Raspbian Installation and Configuration) covers installation and configuration of Raspbian on a Raspberry Pi 3. Note there are three common mistakes that are easy to make during configuration.
- Locale – Raspberry Pi has locale set to en_GB. You should set it for your locale and for USA that is “en_US – ISO8859-1”.
- Keyboard Layout – In the USA you will probably use “Generic 105-key (Intl) PC”.
- Enable SSH – If you want to connect to your Raspberry Pi via the network then make sure SSH is enabled. By enabling it you can run your Raspberry Pi headless (no monitor, keyboard, or mouse).
Do not forget to do updates immediately after gaining Internet access.
